Cyberpunk 2077 Won't Start and Crashes on PC - How to Fix

Cyberpunk 2077 is out after 8 years of development. The large-scale futuristic metropolis and its immediate surroundings are already available for immersion, but in its current form the CD Projekt RED game leaves much to be desired from a technical point of view. Considering that she was repeatedly transferred this year, it is not very joyful to see such a state, however, you have to deal with what is. Especially if you really want to play.

Apart from performance issues, which will be addressed through optimization, the developers will have to patch a lot of animation issues, improve the AI, and pump up the driving. But what is sadder is that some simply cannot start the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 crashes or won’t launch on PC

There are several options to try. Different players may have different reasons, so if one option doesn’t work, try another.

Solution # 1 – Checking files

Make sure you have the day one patch installed. You can also check the integrity of the files. After that, restart the whole system, as well as Steam or GOG.

Solution # 2 – Update Drivers

Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers installed. The official sites can be downloaded for  AMD , or  NVIDIA graphics . Check that your graphics card meets the minimum requirements. Also, updates are downloaded through special applications like GeForce Experience.

Solution # 3 – Service settings

If the game does not start, then try disabling the internal Steam or GOG interface, as well as launching the game in a window through the service settings.

Solution # 4 – Update Windows

Check if you have the latest Windows system and security updates. It is enough to go to the settings and select the update and security section. Then click on the update and if it is necessary, then wait for the installation.

Solution # 5 – Run as administrator

Find the .exe file in the game folder – this is the file for starting the game. Right click and open the file settings. Here in the compatibility section, check the option – run as administrator. Save.

Solution # 6 – Disable unnecessary

Try disabling all unnecessary applications. Including: GeForce Experience, Riva Tuner, MSI Afterburner, MSI Gaming, Fraps, Uplay.

Solution # 6 – Disable optimization

Find the “.exe” file in the game folder. Right click and open the file settings. Open the compatibility section. Then turn off full-screen optimization, click on the button to change DPI settings (density). Select the Override High DPI Scale Behavior option. Then select “Application” from the drop-down menu. Save.
