The ESA released a new report that found the US video game industry generated $ 90.3 billion in the US economy in 2019. This industry supports 429,000 jobs in the States. Among them, 143 thousand are directly employed in the industry.
Their average salary is $ 121,000 per year.
In addition, the industry and its operations generate $ 12.6 billion in federal, state and local taxes annually. The state of California brought the most money – almost $ 52 billion, and it also employs the most people in the industry – 218 thousand people.
