The Bloomberg publication published a large-scale article dedicated to Cyberpunk 2077. In it, the journalists cited a forecast based on the opinion of 10 game analysts, who are sure that by the end of 2021, that is, in a year from the release, RPG sales from CD Projekt RED will exceed 30 million copies.
In comparison, it took The Witcher 3 five years.
Red Dead Redemption 2 and TES V: Skyrim were the examples that analysts focused on. By December 2019, Rockstar had amassed 29 million copies, and Bethesda sold about 30 million of its cult RPG in a year:
At the same time, Cyberpunk 2077 has a difficult path ahead: collect good press, start without bugs and technical problems, attract players now and next year, withstand the test of time. The DLC release will help the title to be attractive for a long time, as it was with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
CD Projekt announced Cyberpunk 2077 in 2012. On the eve of 2021, a long-term RPG will still see the light of day. The game will be available on PC and consoles of the outgoing and new generations.
