Activision Blizzard sues Netflix - service lured key executive

If you love corporate squabbles, then here’s a juicy novelty for you. Activision Blizzard is suing Netflix. According to  Deadline , Netflix poached Activision’s top executive, senior CFO Spencer Neumann, before his contract expired. In response, Activision filed a lawsuit in a California court.

According to lawyers for Activision, Neumann began working at the Call of Duty Factory in May 2017, with the contract ending in April this year. But the publisher had the right to renew the contract for another year. Netflix took him away at the end of 2018. And this violation of the contract was deemed unacceptable by Activision.

Activision is demanding a court to step in and bar Netflix from hiring publisher employees who may have fixed contracts. In addition, Activision wants to receive financial compensation from the streaming giant.

In addition, the lawsuit reads Activision’s clear dislike of Netflix’s attempts to enter the gaming market. In particular, games based on the TV series “Stranger Things” and “The Dark Crystal” are mentioned.
