Starbreeze said it paid off nearly all of its debts. It looks like the company is finally ready to move on. Only part of the liabilities to the Nordea financial group and the convertible bonds of Digital Bros, which it received after the deal with Smilegate, remained.
Starbreeze has spent over a year restructuring its business and large debts. I had to sell the rights to System Shock 3 and 10 Crowns, transfer the art studio Dhruva Interactive into the hands of Rockstar, lay off a quarter of the employees and ask the court to increase the restructuring lines several times.
During all this time, Starbreeze was in a storm – the head and other top managers were replaced, there was a threat of a criminal case in the framework of insider trading in shares. Now the company is focused on all kinds of PayDay projects.
