Lord of the Rings actors urge fans to turn Tolkien's house into a literary hub

For some time now, there has been a project on the network called Northmoor, whose goal is to raise money and save John R.R.Tolkien’s house from sale. The charitable organization wants to use the funds raised to turn the house of the author of “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” into a literary center.

The stars of the Lord of the Rings films called on the fans to support the project. Sympathizers include Ian McKellen, John Rhys-Davis, Martin Freeman, singer Annie Lennox, who sang Into the West in The Return of the King, and Derek Jacoby, who starred in the Tolkien biopic.

The required amount for the purchase of the house is 4 million pounds (almost $ 5.5 million). If you manage to collect more, then in this case there are other goals: to restore the house, to build the Hobbit’s house in the garden, and so on. Now we have managed to collect only 6% of the required minimum, and the collection will last until March 15, 2021.

Anyone who donates more than £ 20 ($ 25) will receive a special certificate and other gifts. More information on the charity’s official website .
