Hacker sentenced to three years in prison for hacking Nintendo servers

The Californian received three years in prison for hacking Nintendo servers and spreading information on social networks. Defendant Ryan S. Hernandez was sentenced by the US District Court in Seattle after pleading guilty to hacking Nintendo servers, stealing and leaking company confidential information, and possession of child pornography.

The offender began to commit break-ins as a minor, but then the FBI contacted him and his family and Hernandez promised to stop acting. However, Ryan continued hacking into Nintendo’s servers from 2018 to 2019 and leaking information he found there.

In June 2019, the FBI raided Hernandez’s residence and confiscated various devices containing stolen Nintendo files, as well as a collection of child pornography.

Hernandez will pay $ 259,000 in compensation to Nintendo, will be sentenced to seven years of supervised release after imprisonment and will have to register as a sex offender.
