The actress, formerly known as Ellen Page, who has appeared in numerous films and TV series, including the recent hit Netflix “Umbrella Academy,” announced that she considers herself transgender from this day forward. She now identifies herself as a man named Elliot.
The tweet reads:
“Hello friends. I want to tell you that I am a trance, I should be referred to as “he” and my name is Elliot. I’m lucky to be able to write this. That I have reached this point in my life. I also ask for patience. My joy is real, but fragile. The truth is, despite my happiness and privileges, I am afraid. I am afraid of interference, hatred, “jokes” and violence. So that you understand – I’m not trying to muffle the moment that is so positive, but I want you to understand the whole picture”
The 33-year-old transgender explained that the statistics are terrible – discrimination against such people is widespread, a lot of rudeness and cruelty, which leads to dire consequences. In 2020 alone, at least 40 transgender people were killed.
In the message, Elliot addresses political leaders who are trying to ban trances, deprive them of medical support or the right to exist, the blood of innocents on their hands.
“To all trans people who face harassment, self-depreciation, rude relationships and cruelty: I see you, I love you and I will do everything to make the world a better place.
Thanks to everyone who read this.
Recall that in 2014, Elliot, formerly known as Ellen, confessed to being gay.
