Nintendo Switch was released almost four years ago, but it is still a hit and breaks new records. This October, the console showed the best sales in the United States in its history: 735 thousand units. This is the second sales console in October overall.
Wii took first place with 807 thousand in 2008.
The Switch is also the best-selling console in the US, holding that title for a full 23 months. Nintendo views the continued success of the hybrid console as confirmation that it continues to hold a solid footing in the market. The company claims the console has many years to come and many great games to come.
Nick Chavez, Nintendo’s US VP of Sales and Marketing, attributes the Switch’s unusually successful October to two key factors: the console’s availability in stores and the Animal Crossing bundle.
