The coronavirus pandemic has overtaken a deadly battle. Mortal Kombat producer Todd Garner stated that Warner Bros. removed the movie from her schedule. The tape will remain without a release date until the cinemas open.

The premiere of the debut trailer has also been postponed.

The filming of the film was planned to be completed in March, but due to the introduced quarantine measures, everything was cut short. Initially, the release of the picture was expected on March 5, 2021, but later it was postponed to January 15.

The cast includes Joe Taslim (Sub-Zero), Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Tadanobu Asano (Raiden), Mekad Brooks (Jax), Cece Stringer (Milina), Jessica McNamie (Sonya Blade) and Josh Lawson (Kano) … Lewis Tan is rumored to have been entrusted with the role of Kenshi, and the performer of the role of Johnny Cage has not yet been named.

The screenplay was written by Greg Russo, who is also working on film adaptations of Space Invaders and Saints Row. It will be directed by Simon McQuaid and produced by James Wang.
