Recently it became known that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on PS5 does not work in native 4K resolution. Then there were speculations that this was due to the fact that the Sony console is slightly weaker than the Xbox alternative, but now the players are publishing different information. Valhalla on Xbox Series X is reportedly not pulling native 4K resolution either.
This data comes after a recent interview with VGC by producer Valhalla, where the developer noted that the new Assassin’s Creed part loads much faster on nextgen, the frame rate is higher, the graphics are better, but dynamic resolution is used to achieve 4K. Then the producer talked about consoles in general, without highlighting the Xbox Series X.
Now, The Verge journalist Tom Warren tweeted that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla really falls short of native 4K on Xbox Series X.
Warren noted that in his estimation, the graphics in Valhalla are comparable to the “high” quality settings on the PC, that is, the nextgen does not have enough power to “ultra”. However, the reason may be in optimization. Yet the game came out as a crossgen title. When the developers finally move to the PS5 and Xbox Series X, the results could be much better.
So now you know – Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on PS5 and Xbox Series X produces 60 fps, but with dynamic 4K resolution.
