Codemasters and Take-Two have reached an agreement on the terms of sale of the British publishing house. The company known for its racing games was valued at $ 980 million. The transaction will be completed in the first quarter of 2021. The purchase will be in cash and stock and will be closed for two years.
By all accounts, both companies are happy with the agreement. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said he thinks Codemasters’ lineup of racing games fits well into the publisher’s list of sports games. Codemasters Chairman Gerhard Florin said the deal will bring the company a long-term success.
Following the completion of the transaction, Codemasters will operate under Take-Two under his current leadership.
