On November 4, SEGA announced that it was selling its arcade machine business due to the pandemic. The company expects to face “extremely high losses” this fiscal year. Therefore, the sale of this business is not the only measure.
The company also said it asked 650 employees to write their resignations of their own accord. SEGA promises to provide them with retirement benefits and support for job seekers in their employment.
Moreover, the company will cut executive salaries from 10 to 30 percent. The companies of the Sega Sammy group will also cut the salaries of top management, and the directors will not be paid in connection with financial forecasts for this year.
