Epic Games will return unspent Fortnite V-Bucks on iOS and Mac for use on other platforms

If you have unspent V-Bucks on the App Store, Epic will give you V-Bucks for the same value.

One of the biggest disputes of 2020 in the world of video games is the one between Epic Games and Apple for Fortnite . As I’m sure you already know, the creators of the Gears of War saga put an alternative payment method in Fortnite to skip the fees that Apple charges all its apps and that led both companies to court , in addition to the game no longer it’s in the App Store.

Many Fortnite players on iOS and Mac complained that they had invested money in the game through the App Store and were now unable to get it back . Well, Epic Games has announced that it will return to users the PaVos (Fortnite’s virtual currency) that have not been spent so that they can use those credits on other platforms and not lose their money.

As confirmed by the company, what it will do, it seems that starting tomorrow , November 9 , is to give each player some PaVos bonuses for the exact value of those that remain without spending . For iOS players, the bonus received will be equal to their current balance of V-Bucks purchased through the App Store . For Mac players , anyone who has played Fortnite on that platform will receive a bonus equal to their current balance of unspent V-Bucks purchased from Epic .

The company has made this decision because the game can no longer be updated on Apple platforms. Of course, this case is affecting many players and everything indicates that it will go a long way . It can even collaterally affect other companies , according to the judge in the case, who did not allow the game to return to the App Store. The situation borders on the surreal at times and it was Apple itself who denounced Epic Games for breaking their agreement in Fortnite .
