No keys needed - Steam will introduce a new way of testing games

Valve introduced a new Steam Playtest feature that allows you to invite players to test the game without using keys and external mailings. This will simplify the task for both developers and gamers themselves.

Studios decide for themselves how many players will get access, when to add more members, and when to start and end testing. The new tool will allow you to accept test requests directly from the store page and provide access directly through Steamworks.

Steam Playtest is free for both developers and users. The feature does not support sales and monetization and will not replace Early Access. In addition, existing tools like demos and beta test keys will not disappear.

Read more about Steam Playtest in the Steamworks documentation . When the feature exits the beta stage is not reported.
