EA renews NHL and UFC licenses

Electronic Arts has extended exclusive licenses for the NHL and UFC for several more years to come. The company will remain the only one with the rights to sports simulators for the content of these associations.

We are very pleased to extend our partnership with EA for another 10 years. EA Sports has become a natural extension of the UFC brand and an essential way of interacting with our fans. We recently released our most successful game, and EA continues to prove that there is always room to grow and how to attract new players.

The news was commented on and on the NHL side.

NHLPA is proud to continue its partnership with EA. We are confident that the exclusive NHL franchise will continue to showcase players to our fans around the world for years to come.

NHLPA Special Assistant Executive Director Mathieu Schneider

EA is often criticized for its handling of several exclusive sports series. For example, FIFA on Switch has not changed in any way for three years, and the NHL was criticized for being conservative and lacking a version for nextgen.
