Official PlayStation 5 does not support 1440p resolution

Recently, information from the manufacturer of monitors BenQ went online, allegedly PS5 has native support for 1440p resolution. Italian IGN has asked Sony for comment and received official information that the console does not support this permission.

According to Sony, 4K or 1080p is more common than 1440p, which the company has called “irrelevant” for most gamers. Sony believes this resolution is close to PC gamers. Nevertheless, the console can be connected to a monitor with a resolution of 1440p, but the picture will only be upscaled with 1080p.

PS5 sales will start on November 12 in the United States and November 19 in Europe.
