Sony announced that PS5 owners can get a dedicated PlayStation Camera adapter for free. You need it to use the PS4 camera for the PS VR headset to work.
The PS5 HD Camera is not compatible with the PS VR headset originally released for PS4.
A similar move from Sony suggests that in the near future there will not be any conditional PS VR of the second generation. Instead, the manufacturer offers an alternative. All you need to do is own an old PS VR headset.
All owners can receive one copy of the PlayStation Camera per address. On the Sony website, you need to apply on a special page and provide a serial PS VR processor module.
You will also need to provide your first name, last name, email address, mailing address and telephone number. Adapter delivery times vary by region. In Japan, shipping will begin at the end of October, and in North and Latin America in mid-November.
In Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand – also in mid-November. The delivery time can be up to two weeks, but it is free.
