Microsoft released results for the first quarter of its fiscal year, which ended September 30. The total revenue of the American corporation was $ 37.2 billion and grew by 12% for the year. Net income reached $ 13.9 billion – an increase of 30%.
The main driver of the company’s growth was the Xbox video games division, which showed high rates:
- Xbox content and services revenue grew 30% or $ 649 million.
- Xbox console sales fell 27%.
- Gaming segment revenue was nearly $ 3.1 billion. An increase of 22% over last year.
Microsoft is forecasting 30% growth in its video games division in the next quarter. The key factor will be the release of the next generation of Xbox Series X / S consoles.
