PBE is something like the vestibule of all changes. This is a special region where all novelties are tested before they are officially introduced to the final version of the game. Mainly to eliminate critical bugs and collect community feedback.
It works so well in League of Legends that it is also planned for Valorant. Unfortunately, it will take a while for PBE.
PBE in Valorant only in 2021
Developers have officially announced the arrival of PBE to Valorant, although the indicative date is still very far away. Riot is targeting the first half of 2021 – should appear in the first half of 2021 -. This will likely work exactly as it does in LoL.
We intend to introduce a selectively updated platform for testing new elements to the game before introducing them to the game, which should appear in the first half of 2021. We will announce or limit specific features or queues, and patches will be there for a while before they hit the main game.
So you can expect a separate region. This should go better than in League of Legends, and you probably won’t need to create separate accounts and ask for access. This, however, has not yet been officially confirmed.
If you’re familiar with PBE in League of Legends, this platform will do a similar job. We hope that we will be able to use what we have learned. We are going to introduce an Early Access option to the game that is not too different from the main version of VALORANT, but also allows you to familiarize yourself with the solutions we are working on. Thanks to this, we will also be able to collect more data to notice changes in the performance of the game and to identify early bugs that players may encounter.
So far, the testers are the players themselves and of course a dedicated team that checks all the news before entering the game – at least in theory.
