Preseason 2021 is fast approaching League of Legends. As it turns out, in addition to completely rebuilding virtually all items, the change will also affect one of the Howling Abbys.
Item that counts all invisible characters is to be replaced with a minion. How will it look like?
Teemo and ARAM
Invisible figures headed by a little hamster are not easy. Especially if there is an item in the game that easily detects traps for 5 minutes and costs only 300 gold. Thus, buying it can also be irritating and very often we just forget about it. Riot Games, seeing this situation, decided to slightly change the mechanics of disarming invisible units.
The leader for additional game modes has informed about the changes that are already introduced on the PBE. He confirmed that the Oracle’s Extract item was removed and replaced with the old one. Each cannon and super minion will carry one Umbral Glaive’s (Umbral Glaive), modified for ARAM. It will detect traps within 900 units and will be visible for 4 seconds.
The main problem we’re trying to solve is that champions with invisibility and traps, especially Teemo, have very different power levels if their opponents know they can buy Oracle’s Extract, which is why it’s so hard to balance. Teemo has a whopping 8.5% lower win rate with high MMR.
This means that if your opponent buys a pot for 300 gold, Teemo traps are virtually useless. Such a change could lead to invisible characters becoming overpowered, but Riot takes this into account and the team will be keeping a close eye on the stats.
