Two Canadians Sued EA Over Loot Boxes

Another lawsuit filed against Electronic Arts over loot boxes. This time, two Canadians have united. The lawsuit cited over 60 EA games, including Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and mobile titles.

Mark Sutherland bought loot boxes in Madden NFL, Sean Moore in NHL. Both accuse the company of “illegal gaming, lotteries and gambling” without a license, thereby violating the Canadian Criminal Code.

Senior officials and directors of Electronic Arts have always been fully aware of the illegal nature of their business and have taken active steps to implement it.

Sutherland and Moore have filed a lawsuit on behalf of all possible victims and are seeking compensation.
