Tantalus Studio has released a dedicated 4K gameplay video for the Age of Empires III remaster. The video shows the main features of the game.

We completely overhauled the engine, switched from DirectX 9 to DirectX 11. Every texture and model has been updated, like all game videos. This means that players will see significant changes when comparing the original Age of Empires III. The terrain has also been redesigned, including river generation.
We have mastered the physics-based rendering engine and graphical parameters SSAO and TAA. The physics engine has been updated to the latest Havok system and the particle system has been updated with new dynamic lights. Not to mention the fact that we have introduced a completely new system of destruction!
Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition will receive two new modes: Historical Battles and the Art of War challenge missions. All previously released additions and all 14 civilizations, plus two new ones: the Incas and the Swedes, will be available in the edition.
The game supports UltraHD and Ultrawide resolutions, higher frame rates and an aspect ratio of 4: 3 on older PCs. Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition releases today October 15 for PC.
