Fans of some champions are devastated by the fact that Kai’Sa received so many skins in less than 3 years.
Most League of Legends fans know that the number one theme of recent times has been the K / DA team and their latest skins – All Out. Just yesterday, the appearance of the new prestigious edition and chrome referring to the song The Baddest were revealed. While fans of Ahri, Akali, Evelynn, and Kai’Sa are enjoying the new cosmetics that are coming to their collection soon, many players are disappointed that one of the K / DA girls will receive 7 skins faster than some of even just one.
7 skins for 2.5 years
Many people may be surprised that Kai’Sa appeared in League of Legends just 2.5 years ago. For some it is a lot, others consider it a very short time, especially compared to characters who are in the League, e.g. 10 years.
However, it is not the release date of the heroine that is shocking to some players. Of course, it’s no wonder that the newer heroes are gaining a fan base and quickly becoming popular. Riot tries to ensure that characters added to the game in recent years simply sell well. In the case of Kai’Sa it was done really well, and it was especially helped by the fact that the wildly popular POP / STARS song by K / DA was released, which made the characters singing in it famous.
It’s worth taking a look at all the skins Kai’Sa has received or will soon be receiving today:
- Bullet Angel (released March 7, 2018)
- KDA (Released on November 3, 2018)
- KDA Prestigious Edition (released on November 3, 2018)
- iG (released April 23, 2019
- Arcade (released June 28, 2019)
- KDA All Out (coming October 28, 2020)
- KDA All Out Prestige Edition (coming October 28, 2020)
As you can see, 4 skins are associated with the aforementioned team, and two of them are prestigious editions.
While no one is surprised that skins are supposed to earn money and using the popularity of characters simply pays off, fans of some heroes are strongly overwhelmed by the fact that the developers have practically forgotten about them.
One player decided to compare the number of days since the release of some skins to Kai’Sa, which has been in LoL since 951. As some of you have already noticed – it’s less than the so-called “1000 days club”.
Soon Gragas (the last Arctic Ops skin released on 1/25/2018, i.e. 992 days ago) and Nasus (the last Lunar Guardian skin released on 02/8/2018, i.e. 978 days ago) will be added to the club.
As you can see, the amount of time that has passed since the last skin for some champions is overwhelming. Many associate that Skarner or Ornn are the victim here, although they forget that Kalista, Shyvana, Azir and Quinn are also among the forgotten.
Compared to the 7 skins that Kai’Sa will receive in just 2.5 years, the stats can be sad, especially if you’re a fan of one of the 1000 Days Skinless Club characters.
Of course, one shouldn’t forget about the little consolation that is the preview of skins for some of the champions mentioned. So far, the appearance of the upcoming Skarner and Ornn skins is known (see: New Ornn and Skarner skins revealed in League of Legends. Announcement of new items and revised in-game store.)
