Late last year, Moon Studios posted a senior game developer job posting for the ARPG revolution. The title is inspired by Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Diablo 3 and the Dark Souls series.
There have been no details since then, but in a recent interview with The Gamer, lead artist Daniel van Leuven shared fresh details on Moon Studios’ next project.
The new project we are working on is very different from the Ori series. We will probably be able to use many things that we could not use in Ori, just because it is a 3D environment. We are focused several years ahead, so yes, we are looking at a lot of next generation options.
We just want to make something that stands out from the crowd to really evoke a strong artistic feeling. To do this, we will have to use a lot of features that we did not have before.
According to art director Jeremy Gritton, switching from Ori to a new game does not mean the hero of The Blind Forest or The Will Of The Wisps can appear in other games. For example, Ori would be great as a Smash Bros.
Ori and the Blind Forest first was released on March 11, 2015, and the sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, was released on March 11, 2020. Previously, the developers stated that they have no plans for a triquel, despite the open finals in the second part.
