If you’ve played Genshin Impact, the open-world action RPG, you already know there’s a ton to do. It may seem relatively simple when you start your adventure, but it quickly speeds up the mechanics, and everything intertwines. For example, characters don’t just have one level; they also have a passive talent tree called Constellations and can be upgraded once certain level thresholds have been reached. However, these require certain materials that the game provides in different ways, to kill high level enemies, to complete quests and to buy them from the shops. The weapons follow the same lines, and one enemy, in particular , must be crushed for its loot, and that monster is the Geovishap Hatchling!
This lizard-like enemy, the Geovishap Hatchling, must be killed to acquire the Fragile Bone Shard, and the monster’s higher-level equivalent drops the Sturdy Bone Shard. These two materials are often used in ascendant weapons; which allows you to increase the weapon level even more.
Where to find the young Geovishap?
The Geovishap Hatchling is a Geo type item, meaning they have strong defense, and can also use shields to deflect / absorb your incoming hits. Just because they’re Geo, don’t assume they’re tall and slow; on the contrary, they are the opposite; they can move like Sonic the Hedgehog!
The Geovishap Hatchling is a pretty rare monster, so no matter where you hunt them, they’re pretty hard to find. Of course, there are a few places you can find them more often, and we’ll tell you where they are! One place is the Tianglui Valley; you may still have to wander a bit, but you will meet them with a little time. The second location is the Huagaung Stone Forest in the western part of the region.
Finding them is difficult, but defeating them is more complicated. As I said above, they can move quickly, but they also have a good health reserve, in addition to the shield they use; fights can drag on. Don’t worry, we have some tips!
- Use a character who uses a heavy weapon. A Claymore user is perfect, so if you have Diluc, Beidou, Chongyun, Noelle, or Razor, you will be able to rip the shield and armor quickly!
- The best person to use against them is actually Noelle. Since she is a geographic user, her skill uses a shield. When Geovishap Hatchling’s attacks are deflected, they become briefly knocked out, allowing you to repeatedly defeat them with his Claymore.
Once the enemy is killed, it is to the gods of luck that a bone fragment has been dropped. It might be worth risking your life to find the next level of the Geovishap Hatchling, as brittle bone fragments are a common drop, instead of a rare drop on regular types. This is a risk / reward scenario, so be careful!
