Following random players won’t return to League of Legends, but Riot is adding a similar option.
A few months ago it was loud about the observer mode removed a few years ago. In the old game client, we were able to watch matches of random players, but Riot Games decided to withdraw this option. It turns out, however, that something similar has been added, but we can only observe the best.
Watching the challengers
From time to time, LoL fans ask the developers to restore the ability to track players’ struggles in the game client. Many users admit that they would like to use it not only for learning, but also for relaxation. We are talking about watching games in low divisions, where most of the people we meet there are just learning to play. So it is related to strange builds, decisions and stupid actions, which often makes the more experienced ones laugh.
Mocking beginners for the sake of the division is nothing fun, though, and Riot Games certainly doesn’t endorse the idea, so another option has been introduced that allows you to only watch the best.
A few hours ago, one of the Rioters about spectator mode described how we can do it and showed a new option.
It’s not the same, but you can watch the challengers’ games by going to the ranked tab, selecting the division leaders and clicking on the “observer’s eye”. next to them. This symbol shows that they are in play and you can observe them.
However, it seems that this option may not fully work yet. Although we see on other pages that a summoner is currently in the match, the eye does not appear next to it in this tab (even after a few refreshes). Perhaps it will be fixed soon, or it is just a bug in the client.
