Genshin Impact How to Get Original Resin

Genshin Impact How to Get Original Resin

Genshin Impact has a ton of things to do early in the game, but it gradually develops as you progress through the mid-game section. By now you should have a plethora of resources, your characters up to around level 20, maybe have a single star of your Constellation acquired on some of your characters. There are a lot of things that can be accomplished before you even start delving further into the game , and one of those things is using Original Resin. But what exactly is it and how do you get it?

Original Resin is a resource you won’t fully understand until you encounter a Ley Line or Adventure Rank high enough to unlock an Abyssal Realm. Both of these things require payment for the original resin to claim the reward. You may have noticed while viewing the map that in the upper right corner of the screen there is a moon icon with 120/120. Well, that’s how much of the original resin you have.

After defeating a boss on a Ley Line or completing an Abyssal Realm, as I said above, it costs a specific amount of Original Resin to get the reward. You need the following amount:

  • Abyssal Domains – 20 Original Resin
  • Ley Line Flowers – 20 Original Resin
  • Weekly Bosses – 60 Original Resin

How to get the original resin

You only have a limited amount of original resin per day, which is 120, which isn’t really much. However, it rebuilds itself over time on its own, but at a very slow rate. For a single piece of resin to refill takes 8 minutes, so for using 20 it takes 2 hours and 40 minutes, and a total of 16 hours if you use your entire amount of original 120 resin.

There is a consumable in Genshin Impact called Fragile Resin, which restores 60 of your original resin; however, it cannot exceed the cap of 120, which will be lost. There is a second way to restore your resin but at the cost of your Primogems. You can buy 60 original resin six times a day, but after each purchase the cost is usually increased.

  • First Time – 50 Primogems
  • Second time – 100 Primogems
  • Third time – 100 Primogems
  • Fourth time – 150 Primogems
  • Fifth time – 200 Primogems
  • Sixth time – 200 Primogems

This is one of the ways miHoYo uses to trick you into buying more Primogems through microtransactions. Limiting high-reward activities is a smart way to entice yourself into spending real money. Or you can be patient, so limit yourself wisely, but we all know that sometimes it just doesn’t work that way!
