Epic warns that updating Apple devices to iOS 14 may remove Fortnite from phones, iPads, etc.
Most Apple hardware owners already have iOS 14 installed and as it turns out, they have lost access to Fortnite. Epic responded right away by sending relevant information on their social media, but for many people it was too late.
This process can be stopped but not reversed. So once again Apple wins a small battle and deprives many players of the ability to log into Epic production.
iOS 14 removes Fortnite?
It’s hard to say if Apple planned this at all, but it’s fairly standard procedure for games and apps that are removed from the App Store. There is a warning on the official Fortnite Status profile for anyone looking to update their devices to iOS 14 that this may prevent you from playing Fortnite.
As Epic writes, there is a way to stop this by declining the temporary removal of the application. It is not too difficult, but most people will completely miss the message to warn you about this process. After all, the name Fortnite does not appear there, but “temporary applications”.
Not much has changed in the Epic and Apple subject. There is still a huge dispute and companies are still shouting over who is right. So far, Apple seems to have a big advantage, because it just does not earn its 30%.
