Starting today, Riot changes Valorant players' nicknames if they are offensive in any way

If your nickname is offensive, Riot will force you to change it.

Riot officially announced that starting today, it is starting a new process for forcing players to change their nicknames in case they contain offensive phrases or words. This is good news for sure, as it has not been sufficiently controlled so far.

Players can already report offensive nicknames, which will then go through a special check. The process is different than in LoL.

What if I have that nickname?

On the official Twitter profile, there is information about changes in Riot ID. If you have a curse or something offensive there, the next time you log in, you will be forced to change your nickname.

Is this some kind of beginning for a thicker action? Probably not. Riot ID is a novelty for developers that was thoroughly tested only last year. It’s just rolling out more functions.
