It looks like the Fortnite servers have gone down, so you might receive an error while trying to connect. You are not alone if this happens, many players experience it, and Epic is aware of the issues and is working on it. We don’t know how long it will take before it gets fixed, you may just have to look elsewhere for entertainment just yet!
The Fortnite Status Twitter tweeted the following information when the issue started:
We’re investigating the issues with kicking and connecting. We will provide an update when these are resolved.
If you receive the message “Your account no longer has access to the game in Fortnite”, don’t worry! You are not banned and you have not lost all of your cosmetics or your account. This is simply a message that players receive that accompanies the “You are not authorized to play Fortnite” error. Both of these just mean that you can’t access the game right now because the servers are down. It was also tweeted by the Fortnite Status Twitter:
Players who see a message saying “You are not authorized to play Fortnite” or “Your account no longer has access to Fortnite” due to this issue are not banned from Fortnite.
Never fear Fortnite players! Epic is on the case and the servers should eventually be backed up. Unfortunately, there is really nothing you can do to fix the problem and you will just have to wait for it to be fixed. Epic sure doesn’t want you to not have access to the game, so it’s very likely that they will make it their highest priority to get Fortnite back to working order ASAP!
