A large monument of Black Panther suddenly appeared on the “Fortnite” map. The statue, named “Panther Deer” quickly became the place of pilgrimage for many Marvel fans commemorating the late actor Chadwick Boseman. Epic says the statue has been in the works for some time as part of the current superhero event.
The developers of “Fortnite”, as well as Marvel fans around the world, mourn Chadwick Boseman. The 43-year-old actor died last week of complications from colon cancer. According to Kotaku, a spokesperson for Epic Games has now confirmed the team’s concern and said the Black Panther Monument is part of a longer planned “Fortnite” update. The statue is used by many fans to pay tribute to the popular artist.
“Panther Stalk” is part of the current Marvel season
The “Panther Stalk” monument can be found on the “Fortnite” map near Misty Meadows. It is a gigantic panther perched on a rock and overlooking the landscape – the same statue can be seen in the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, for example in “Captain America Civil War”. The current season 4 of “Fortnite” has the Marvel universe as its theme, many superheroes and locations from well-known stories appear in the game .
Galactus is coming: gigantic final in November?
The Black Panther statue is Marvel’s third appearance on the “Fortnite” map. Previously, there were references to Ant-Man and the X-Men, and more superhero Easter eggs are to be expected. The story of chapter 2 of season 4 revolves around the imminent arrival of the gigantic “world devourer” Galactus on the planet “Fortnite”. Epic Games are expected to hold the event to end, likely November 30, accordingly.
