While the Fortnite development studio is currently at “war” against Apple and Google following the withdrawal of the battle royale from the various stores, Epic Games is accused of having plagiarized certain points of its last city: Coral Castle

Indeed, as reported by our colleagues from Polygon, a museum based in Miami, Florida bears the name of Coral Castle and the owner believes that Epic Games has, in addition to having used its name, copied certain things that are specific to it. As a result, the latter wants the name of Coral Castle to be simply removed from Fortnite, but also that the company pays him financial compensation.

When we look at images of the museum, created in 1939, and compare them to parts of the locality, it is true that the similarities are strangely striking. However, it remains to be seen if this is a mere coincidence, or if Epic Games was indeed inspired by the museum. Nonetheless, with the community calling this new town Atlantis, the transition for players, if there is a name change, shouldn’t be difficult, especially since Coral Castle only stood up to the start. of August and is not primarily popular with gamers.

Epic Games has still not reacted to this matter, and should remain silent until a solution is found between the two parties. We will update this article if there are any changes to take place in Fortnite.
